Thinker, writer, poet, reader, editor,  storyteller, author

Hello there! Thanks for dropping in!

I've been creating stories and such since Mrs. Jordan's sixth grade class at Greenwood Elementary School.

A graduate of the University of Alaska, Anchorage, I am a former editor and journalist.

I routinely tell other people's stories, writing about the people and events in the

Pee Dee region of South Carolina. I write about family, friends, nature and life.

I live in the Hannah community along the Lynches River. I travel, record what I see, hear, smell, taste, and do.

The photos on this website are mine, too. I love capturing life with words and images.

In September 2019, I published my first book, "Gathering, Homespun Essays from Beech Tree Lane."

In spite of a world-wide pandemic, or maybe because of it,

in October 2020 I published "Cultivating, Homespun Essays from Beech Tree Lane."

If all goes well, look for "Finding" to come out later this year!
