Of azaleas and such
Few things say "Spring" in South Carolina like our azaleas. These mainstays of our lawns and gardens burst forth in their reds, pinks, lilacs, whites, and all shades in between, to say "Look at Me! I survived the winter! So did you! It's Spring!" They are such excited plants that they require multiple exclamation points when they talk to us. Everything they say is bright and cheery and showy and jubilant.
And so we find ourselves with one-fourth of 2017 behind us and three-quarters to go. There is little time to waste and much to be done. The calendar pages flip by and we better get busy before the year passes us by totally and we're found still wiping the sleep from our eyes from our long winter's nap.
"Come on! Get going! Keep moving! You can do it! It's Spring!"
