Fall, winter, spring, summer

Four of the best reasons to live in South Carolina are that we get a semblance, most years, of the four seasons. Winter, spring, summer, fall. Yep, our summer is what we're sort of known far, particularly since the east side of the state is practically one long grand coastal experience, but we get to enjoy the other three seasons as well.

This fall sunrise shows some of our best fall colors. We get

fall days and leaves and skies that turn with from yellow to gold and red to orange, complemented by our evergreens.

We get winter days with chills and the occasional snow, which in turn bring out our winter jackets, gloves, scarves and blessed boots.

Spring warms us up again and, with its flowers flush with red, pink, white and blue blossoms, rewards us for the summer heat that is to come.

And then, once again, our summers fills us through the offspring of our long growing season. We get pears, peaches, blueberries, corn, green beans, peppers, tomatoes, herbs, spices, watermelon, honeydew, and much, much more. Summer also brings us weekend respites from every hot and humid day. All we have to do is travel a few miles to be in the hills and mountains way west of Hannah or the very few miles it takes to be in the Atlantic Ocean.

Yep. Good ole' SC is the right place to be year-round.
