Don't be afraid to be a cliche in 2021

A singular flower on a vine. In late fall. Behind the fence. It's just now turned winter in these parts of the world. Likely the bloom is gone. Bloom where you're planted? Pushing up daisies? Fresh as a daisy? Nip it in the bud? It's time to find your place in the sun ... What's your favorite cliche?

Writers are warned against the use of cliches, as these phrases are deemed trite, rendered useless by their very use. Be original. Think a new thought. See a new likeness. Create your own soon-to-be cliche?

What about the tried and true? What about understanding? If a cliche is known, and understanding is the meaning of communicating, then a cliche may be your best friend. I say don't be afraid to bloom where you're planted. After all, all that glitters is not gold. We should kiss and make up, don't you think? Why not live happily ever after?

So Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and Joyous Whatever you Celebrate! And a great big Happy New Year: May all your dreams come true, you find out that laughter is the best medicine and all your clouds in 2021 have silver linings. Don't judge a book by it's cover, don't put all your eggs in one basket, and remember, you can't please everyone. May every day of 2021 inspire you to grow. Keep Cultivating!
